NEWBORNS & babies

Babies are adorable, and Zoë adores photographing them! For newborn shoots, she travels to the baby's home as this is where their new family tends to feel the most comfortable and relaxed. A bed, moses basket or sofa can be the perfect place for a natural, stress-free shoot. It doesn't matter a bit if there is a toddler sibling running wild or mounds of muslins waiting to be washed... all that matters is that the baby has a place in which to be adorable!

Newborn shoots last up to two hours. It can take less time than this, but it is so important that new parents don't feel rushed, and that there is plenty of time for changing, feeding, winding, and cuddles. Outfit changes are popular (and sometimes necessary!) and by not rushing there is more chance of some awake time for the photos as well as lots of peaceful sleepiness.

Sometimes parents like a favourite cuddly toy or blanket to feature alongside their baby which is lovely, of course, but other than that Zoë doesn't use props and she doesn't add soft glow to her images. Like all her subjects, newborns are perfect - just as they are.
